Where found:

  • Lowland to alpine, streamsides, damp and shady areas
Description:
  • A tufted plant that grows singly or in groups
  • Yellow-green leaves (50cm-2.5m x 2.5-7.5cm) are stiff and upright in the lower half, drooping in the upper half, red coloured ribs on either side of the midrib
  • Flowers from October to November and orange berries from December to May
