Where found:

  • Scrubs and forest margins
  • Up to 750 metres
Description:
  • Shrub or small tree with spreading branches covered with soft white hairs (tomentum)
  • The leaves are large, up to 25cm x 20cm, membranous with dense white tomentum below
  • Flowers are prolific on large panicles in spring
  • Leaves and flowers poisonous
  • Leaves used in poultices to treat wounds and sores
  • Preferred food of possums
